Brooke Buchan is a Mètis/Michif beadwork artisan with ancestral ties to Red River, Pembina, St. Laurent, and Lake Manitoba. They are descended from the Lagimodiere, Mallet, Chartrand, and Sanderson families.
Brooke began beading in 2022 to strengthen their connection to Mètis identity. Each beaded La Vaalii Rivyeer Roozh piece is rooted in Mètis culture, history, and peoplehood
