Brooke Buchan

Brooke Buchan is the artist behind La Vaalii Rivyeer Roozh. Brooke is Rivyeer Roozh Michif (Red River Métis) from Treaty 1 Territory with connections to St. Laurent and Lake Manitoba First Nation (Dog Creek).

Brooke is a proud member of the Manitoba Métis Federation. Brooke began beading in October of 2022 to connect with their Michif heritage.

Brooke is currently an Indigenous Studies Major and Urban and Inner City Studies Minor at the University of Winnipeg with hopes of becoming an Indigenous rights lawyer. Brooke is also a Michif language learner.
