Sarah Thornson – Pink Ladyslipper Print

My name is Sarah Thornson. I am a proud wife to my Métis husband and mother to my two wonderful children. My family is my inspiration for my art and inspires me to constantly strive for greatness. The discovery of my Métis heritage is recent. Through much research, my Father discovered a very rich Métis history in our family that was kept quiet for years. Since claiming my status I have felt immense pride in my identity as a Métis citizen and now as a Métis artist. I express myself through sketches and pencil crayon art. Every piece I create has a place in my heart and I would greatly love to share my passion with those willing to see the detail and time it takes to create. I have been drawing from an early age and my mother, who is also an artist, was willing to teach me to enrich my art by understanding the concept of lighting. Through this concept I enjoy the time it takes to add shading to each project. I hope you enjoy my work and I hope it gives you the sense of peace it gave me while creating it.
