3 generations making/crafting/baking together to create a variety of lovingly made products!
Marlene Morin has always been a maker, sometimes out of necessity and sometimes for fun. While her children were growing up she made everything from hand sewn halloween costumes to fresh baked bread. Making/Crafting/Baking are skills she passed down to her daughter, Dawn, who is now passing these skills down to her daughters.
Dawn Morin feels called to self care, natural wellness, and traditional (plant) medicines. She has completed her yoga teacher training, is studying plant medicine/herbal preparations, and is working on her permaculture design certification.
Alexis & Tabi are both discovering their making/crafting/baking skills. Alexis is drawn to beading, sculpting, and jewellery making. Tabi loves to bake and decorate, she uses cakes and cookies as her canvas.
In January 2019, after 40+ years in the corporate world, Marlene retired. By December she and Dawn were collaborating on designing and making yoga bolsters, meditation cushions, and other accessories. After developing patterns and purchasing new equipment (sewing machine, surger, materials) the business was just getting off the ground when covid halted everything.
Having a strong entrepreneurial spirit and creativity in overcoming obstacles by looking for the good in all that comes into our lives; as well as a new sewing room, machines, and material Marlene began to research mask designs and mask production began. We then purchased a Cricut machine to add decals for some flair! 2000+ masks later it is again time to redefine and recreate My Little Sewing Room’s direction.
As our 3 generations come together to redirect our energy and passion for creating we are developing a variety of products focusing on decor, jewellery, selfcare, and a little whimsy.
