Kennedy Davey Anderson is a proud Red River Métis woman, born and raised in Ste. Rose du Lac, Manitoba, where she continues to live. A nurse by profession, Kennedy is also a dedicated mother and cultural advocate. She is the manager and co-founder of a youth jigging group, working to pass on the traditions of Métis dance and music to the next generation.

From a young age, Kennedy embraced her Métis heritage by learning to fiddle, jig, and square dance—experiences that sparked a lifelong journey of cultural reconnection and celebration. In recent years, she has deepened this connection through traditional arts such as sash weaving and beading, having learned beading from a long-time family friend. Her passion for Métis culture extends into all aspects of her life, from sharing homemade baking and canning to spending time on the land berry picking and fishing. Whether she's beading earrings, playing with her son, spending time with her dogs, or calling out “bingo!” at a bingo hall, Kennedy brings heart, heritage, and community spirit into everything she does.
