About the Artist
Amy McPherson (Fashion Ikwe Designs)
Amy McPherson, a Métis multidisciplinary artist and fashion designer. Over the years Amy has acquired much traditional knowledge in many forms of art such as beading, quilling, tufting, basketry, sewing and birch bark biting.
Graduating with an Academic Achievement award in 2017 from MC Colleges’ Fashion Design and Apparel Production. In 2022 she was an Artist in Residence at Banff Centre of Arts and Creativity inaugural Indigenous Haute Couture program.
She is inspired by old beadwork, renaissance fashion and nature, has a love for colour theory and enjoys combining techniques for her one of a kind designs.
