Zabrina Zhah

Zabrina is a stay-at-home mother of two daughters with a background in graphic design. During her maternity leave, she began connecting more deeply with Métis community and culture, participating in birding activities and nature walks.

In the winter, she attended a Stay and Play and beading group hosted by ELCC, where she learned to create her first pair of brick stitch earrings. Inspired by this experience, she soon joined another beading group to further develop her skills, including flat stitch techniques.

Earlier this year, Zabrina attended a Climate Symposium, where she met an artist who had participated in the first RRMAAEI program. Encouraged by this connection, she began to consider turning her art into something more tangible. Motivated by the openness and welcoming nature of the Métis community, she decided to apply to the RRMAAEI program.
