Marcella Jeanette Louise Poirier – Pchi Loo Aunti (Coyote Aunti)

Marcella is a multi-media fibre and textile artist informed by traditional Métis material culture. Her work includes adorned domestic objects, art dolls, and original clothing design inspired by historic garments and patterns.

Her creations are intended to spark conversations around the kitchen table to bridge the narrative between modern Métis people and our ancestors.

Her work has been shown at Cre8ery Gallery and Gallery 1C03.

“Pchi Loo Aunti is who you come to for advice when things are confusing.  She may remind you that things are not always as they seem.  She will advise you, while always reminding you to make YOUR decision and own it.  If someone has harmed you, she will fiercely have your back.  If you are hurting, her hug is good medicine.  Coyote Auti has her scars, but she holds her stories close.  She will share them only when they might help someone else.  Coyote Aunti will are for you as you care for her.”
