Kiera Kowalski is a Red River Métis artisan from Fort Frances, Ontario. Her family names are Desjarlais, Lussier and Sayer. She currently lives in Winnipeg where she enjoys beading and sewing in her free time. Kiera’s favourite place to bead is her family’s cabin on Lee River just outside of Lac do Bonnet, MB. She enjoys drawing inspiration from traditional Métis beadwork and colour schemes. When she’s not working on her art, she works as a Research Associate supporting Métis community-based research projects.
