Gelene Chastellaine

My name is Gelene Chastellaine.  I am a Red River Métis from the Cranberry Portage Local.

After retiring as a Teach, I wanted a hobby to keep me busy.  I have always been interested in beading, so I taught myself to bead by watching YouTube and TikTok tutorials.

I wanted my pieces to be unique so I create pieces that are beaded onto birch bark.

I find beading relaxed and soothes my mind, body and spirit.
